New Hampshire Real Estate License Requirements 

Learn about the real estate education needs for licensing and renewal in your state. 


Licensing Board/Commission: 

Office of Professional Licensure and Certification - NH Real Estate Commission 


Requirements: 

Education hours required for a real estate salesperson license in the state of New Hampshire: 40 hours of approved real estate courses (Of these, no more than 8 hours may be distance education.) 


Education hours required for a real estate broker license in the state of New Hampshire: 60 hours 


Reciprocity: 

Real estate commissions and boards across the country are adopting policies for a real estate agents in one state to more easily become licensed in another state. If an out-of-state licensee who applies for a New Hampshire salesperson license holds an active real estate license in good standing, they may apply for a New Hampshire license, taking only the New Hampshire portion of the license exam.

 

Continuing Education (CE) and License Renewal Requirements: 

Real estate professionals in New Hampshire must renew their real estate licenses every two years from the date their licenses were issued. By that date, licensees must complete 15 hours of real estate CE, of which 12 hours must be electives and 3 hours must be core courses.

Licensure Requirements to Become an Appraiser 

• Must be at least 18 years of age 

• Must have a high school diploma or its equivalent 

• Must meet the educational requirement for the applying level of appraiser licensure • Must meet the experience requirement for the applying level of appraiser licensure • For Certified Residential level: A minimum of an Associate’s Degree OR 21 college semester hours in specific subject matters is also required 

• For Certified General level: A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree OR 30 college semester hours in specific subject matters is also required 

• Satisfactory completion of the state examination (Apprentices are not required to take a state exam) 

• Submit application, required documents, and associated fees 


Appraiser School Education Requirements

Experience Requirements for Becoming an Appraiser

New Mexico Real Estate License Requirements

Requirements: 

Education hours required for an associate real estate broker license in the state of New Mexico: 90 hours 


Education hours required for a qualifying broker license in the state of New Mexico: 30 hours 


Reciprocity: 

Real estate commissions and boards across the country are adopting policies for a real estate agents in one state to more easily become licensed in another state. New Mexico currently has such agreements with only three other states: Georgia, Louisiana and Massachusetts. License applicants currently licensed by a state or jurisdiction with which the NM Real Estate Commission has a written recognition agreement are not required to take any of the prescribed prelicense courses or take either portion of the broker's examination to be eligible to apply for a New Mexico broker's license. 


Continuing Education (CE) and License Renewal Requirements: 

Brokers in New Mexico must renew their real estate licenses every three years from the date the Commission issued their licenses. They must take 30 hours of real estate CE. This includes 8 hours of mandatory topics. The New Mexico 8-hour core course and the 6-hour qualifying broker refresher course cannot be taken online. 


Of the 22 elective CE hours that can be completed online, a maximum of 10 credit hours may be credited toward the CE requirement from approved training category courses. At least 12 hours must be taken from approved education category courses; however, all 22 credit hours may be taken from the list of Commission-approved education category courses.
